Police Sets Up Complaints Office In Tivoli Gardens

A police complaints office has been established at the Tivoli Gardens Health Centre.

This office will receive complaints from residents about the conduct of members of the police force during the current operations in the community.

Residents can go to the centre between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. or they can call the following numbers: 322- 8701 or 1- 888- 429- 5523.

Yesterday (May 30), Commissioner of Police, Owen Ellington and Chief of Staff of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF), Major General Stewart Saunders, toured operational areas in West Kingston, to view firsthand, the joint/military operation now underway.

A number of residents, who came forward with complaints, were directed to the facilities put in place, through which they can register grouses and receive assistance.

An office of the Public Defender has also been set up at the Tivoli Gardens community centre to hear complaints from aggrieved residents.
