Recognizing Elected Officials and Community Leaders at Art Space International on Friday, May 16, 2008

The Atlanta Caribbean Carnival Bandleaders Association, the official organizers of the 20th Annual Atlanta Caribbean Carnival, in partnership with Art Space International and Via Mundi Art Gallery will be holding a press conference and party on Friday, May 16 at 4PM.

Also attending will be State Representative Billy Mitchell (D-Stone Mountain) who worked tirelessly, in partnership with State Representative Alisha Thomas-Morgan (D-Cobb), towards the unanimous vote to proclaim June as Caribbean Heritage Month in Georgia, as well as Caribbean community and business leaders.

Another special feature will be the unveiling of a signature piece of artwork, commissioned by JASON-a premier Caribbean artist, in recognition of the 20th Anniversary of the Official Atlanta Caribbean Carnival, being held on Saturday, May 24 in downtown Atlanta.

The press conference begins at 4 PM, which will lead into an evening of Caribbean festivities and delicacies.
