Pride of the Caribbean is a Western Union Scholarship award for students residing the US accepted to an accredited university with origins from select countries in the Caribbean: Jamaica, Trinidad, Guyana, Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, British Virgin Islands, St. Kitts & Nevis, and St. Vincent & the Grenadines. Numerous factors influenced the decision to start with these countries; collectively we worked with our partners to start the first edition with these nine (9) countries.. There will be two (2) students that receive $10,000 toward their education (tuition) at an accredited university.

Applications are accepted from June 1st, 2014 – July 25th, 2014. Selection and notification to all applicants is September 5th, 2014. The application is completely free and the process is completely private. We have collaborated with the Institute of International education (www.iie.org) who administers other globally recognized scholarships such as the Fulbright Scholarship.

The scholarship is designed to help ease the financial burden for students working towards building a better future for themselves and their families.
