Location: CUSO-VSO, Kingston and St Andrew
Description: Reporting to the Country Representative, the Program Support Officer (PSO) will provide comprehensive program administration and support. The PSO will also provide proactive and extended support to partners and volunteers of Cuso International and will act as key contact for all program and logistical queries. In addition, the PSO will play an active role with regards to safety and security by assessing risks and ensuring compliance to Cuso International Policies and Procedures. The Program Support Officer is expected to work effectively as part of the CUSO-VSO staff team, and in particular to:; Attend meetings, as required; To undertake specific additional responsibilities from time-to-time, as may be agreed upon with their Line Manager; Provide cover to other staff as needed.
Qualifications: Diploma/degree in business management and administration or acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience related to job requirements; Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in the area of Administration and Volunteer/staff management and/or support Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Windows, Power Point, Outlook) databases and internet; English essential (French/Spanish an asset); Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); Excellent interpersonal skills; Ability to deal effectively and professionally with people from a variety of cultural and national backgrounds; Ability to negotiate with multiple stakeholders and external organizations; Diplomacy, patience and tact; Demonstrated initiative and constructive and creative approach to problem solving; Demonstrated commitment to volunteerism; Flexibility to adapt to new situations, with a positive and professional attitude to working within the organizations’ standards; Good time management, planning and priority-setting skills, and attention to details; Valid driver’s license / clean driving records; Commitment to teamwork; Proven commitment to mainstreaming Gender and equality issues within work and ability to coach and mentor staff in this aspect of performance; Willingness to travel and work irregular hours from time to time, as necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position.
