Quality Inn El Portal Appoints Brenda Alonso Velazquez As General Manager

Alonso Velazquez joined the Quality Inn El Portal franchised hotel in 2004 as Sales Manager with the primary objective of maximizing the hotel’s occupancy and working alongside the General Manager to ensure excellent guest service and accommodation standards.
 
As General Manager, she will leverage her strategic-leadership expertise to maintain the efficient operation of the hotel while exploring creative ways to grow business, inspire staff, and provide the best possible experience for guests.
 
A native of Puerto Rico, Alonso Velazquez has worked in the hospitality industry in San Juan for more than 20 years. During her six-year tenure at the Puerto Rico Convention Bureau, which served more than 550 local member businesses, she worked her way up from Manager to Director of Member Affairs.
 
She previously spent several years at Caribe Hilton and Casino where she was first a Public Relations executive and then Club Liaison Manager/Corporate Sales Administrative Assistant to the Director.
 
Prior to joining Quality Inn El Portal, Alonso Velazquez was the Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Equity Financial Services, Inc. where she oversaw the launch of the company’s new website and directed a telemarketing program for the company’s mortgage divisions. She holds a Masters of Business Administration from Inter-American University in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico.
