Rebelmix Expands To The Eastern Caribbean

Rebelmix is committed to promoting the diverse spectrum of Caribbean culture.

Rebelmix, the Caribbean’s first and leading full-service digital distribution solution, in its continued effort to bring Caribbean art forms and talent greater exposure on the global market has expanded its horizon by signing one of the largest labels from the Eastern Caribbean. Rebelmix recently inked a deal to distribute material for Chosen Sounds Studio, located in St. John’s, Antigua.

Chosen Sounds Studio, which prides itself on being one of the few studios in Antigua dedicated to recognizing and developing new talent, has over the past ten years been a pioneer in the genre of urban music in Antigua – whether it be Hip Hop, Dancehall, R&B, Latin, Soca or Reggae. Under the guidance of J.Omari Harrigan, Chosen Sounds has developed the reputation of working with some of the best artistes and entities in the music industry, including Bass Odyssey, Black Reaction, Gunz & Roses, Lindo P and Blessed Zee.

“Chosen Sounds is known for putting out quality music, our portfolio includes entertainers throughout Antigua – JM, Chello, Fucha Kid, Promise, Kenne Blessin, Carlos, Shamobe, Claudette Peters, J.I, Lee Pee Ching, Logic and more; in the Wider region, T.O.K, Mr. Slaughter, Toni Norvile, Bobby Brown, Kevin Lyttle and others. Presently we are working on some album releases for Carlos Turner, Fucha Kid, Promise and Major Mac truc. These selected projects are being perfected for international release and Rebelmix will play a big role in their success. The first release on Rebelmix will be the Fucha Kid Start It album and we expect big things form this project. The decision to move with Rebelmix was simple and effortless. The management is solid and a real added bonus is their emphasis on Marketing and PR. In this day and age when CD’s are going out and the digital revolution is on its turn, Chosen Sounds believes in a company like Rebelmix which has a 360 degree approach to marketing and promotions coupled with sincere concerns for the welfare of the artistes” – J.Omari Harrigan, CEO Chosen Sounds Studio.

Rebelmix views this new project as a continuation of its commitment to the development and promotion of Caribbean culture. The signing of Chosen Sounds Studio while significant is by no means Rebelmix’s only foray into the wider Caribbean music market.

“We already represent Trinidadian producer Anastas “Nas-T” Hackett of Traveling Man Productions, based on this partnership we are able to distribute his work which includes projects such as Denise Belfon’s Work, which was remixed by Masters At Work and peaked at #7 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play charts, Machel Montano’s Jambolassi, and tracks from David Rudder and Iwer George to name a few. Soca and Calypso are fast becoming internationally recognised musical art forms. Rupee, Kevin Lyttle, Arrow and others have made significant impressions on the pop charts, as well as touring bands like Krosfyah and Machel Montano’s Xtatik. Rebelmix is well placed to enable Caribbean cultural expressions such as Soca and Calypso to take their rightful place among the other major music genres” – Christopher A. Edmonds, President, Rebelmix Inc.

Rebelmix is committed to promoting the diverse spectrum of Caribbean culture. Already established in the distribution of reggae and dancehall music, Rebelmix sees the development and export of Soca and Calypso as equally important. With its diverse and wide ranging experience on the international music scene as well as its large distribution chain encompassing digital retailers such as the ITunes Music Store, Yahoo! Music, eMusic, the Microsoft Zune Marketplace and FYE Downloads Unlimited, Rebelmix more than any other entity is strategically placed to be the world premiere distributor of Caribbean Music.
