PHILADELPHIA, USA — Calabar High School’s Traves Smikle was last Saturday named the 2011 Penn Relays Outstanding High School Boys individual events athlete after his record-breaking feat in the discus throw a day earlier.

Smikle, the National Junior Record (NJR) holder with 66.88m set at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys Champs, established a new championship mark at the Penn Relays with a 69.55m effort to break the one-year-old record of 58.50m that was set by his former teammate Chad Wright by over 11metres. Read more >>
