Jumpout Production celebrates International Reggae Day today July 1 with the release of the lead single, “Life Nuh Fair At All” from Anthony Cruz, available now and the visuals premiering on Tuff Gong TV. Then, throughout the month of July one single a week will be released. The riddim album is also available to pre-order now. You can watch the world premiere of the “Life Nuh Fair” music video on Tuff Gong Television YouTube channel here.
Composed by established Reggae producer Noel Alphonso (son of the legendary Jamaican saxophonist Roland Alphonso) and with production and engineering from Gary Sutherland of Jumpout Production, Rockin’ Rock Riddim is the perfect mix of Old Skool Dancehall, Roots Rock Reggae and digital-age music.
Sutherland said of the release: “We wanted to ‘bring back’ Reggae as many say Reggae is dead. But who says Reggae is a thing of the past? This album will make Reggae lovers happy, as it brings back an authentic drum and bass sound with the classic keyboard strums that will live forever. It is what me and Noel envisioned when we collaborated for the launch of the project. We want to remind audiences that Reggae is here to stay, offering its initial intent – conscious, clean and positive vibrations to dance to.”
Rockin’ Rock Riddim feels like a 90s throwback, but one that’s also honouring the 80s at the same time. Add in the roster of artists, and the release is stellar. Featuring cuts from legendary names such as Pinchers, Mikey Melody, Mikey General and Anthony Cruz, as well as emerging artists like Chyna Nicole, Abajonai Kushites and Franko Brian, it promises to be a big riddim for the summer.
