For Immediate Release (Miami, FL) – The 2006 INTERNATIONAL REGGAE RADIO AND RETAIL CONFERENCE (IRRRC) scheduled for the November 3-4, 2006 in Miami, FL. The Conference will be coupled with 2006 South Florida Family Reggae Festival set for Sunday, November 5, 2006 in Miami, FL.

Showcase Opportunities

1. Luncheon Video Showcase- the Video Showcase is a giant screen event that takes place during Saturday’s luncheon. These 2, 5, and 10 minute spots are ideal for showcasing your live performance, recording studio, video production services, or latest music video. Please contact our office directly to inquire about fees and other criteria.

2. Ready Fi Rule Showcase- The Ready Fi Rule Showcase is a live performance event scheduled for Friday November 3rd. No more than 8 acts will receive 15 minutes each to perform for conference attendees and the general public. Both live music and tracks will be used for the showcase. Interested parties should contact us directly.

Panel topics have been announced for the full day of interactive and informative enrichment for the Reggae Music Industry. Panelists will be announced in August.

REGGAE MEDIA TO THE MAX- A GUIDE TO RADIO AND TELEVISION PROMOTION

A frank dialog between the reggae entertainment media, producers and labels will address how to best utilize the various forms of radio and video outlets available to our industry today. Topics of the discussion will include how labels submit material and solicit airplay, the importance radio feedback sheets and play lists, legit radio promotions versus payola, etc. Most importantly, we will seek to solidify a partnership that will work together to create a consistent and effective presence for reggae music. Panel will include radio promoters and reps from College, Public, Satellite, Brokered, and Commercial radio).

WORKSHOPS: THE LATEST IN STUDIO SOFTWARE (PROTOOLS, ETC.)
Representatives from Protools will demonstrate the latest in studio software and answer your questions. IMPORTANT: Due to limited seating attendees should sign up for this workshop in advance. When you check-in at the conference, please add your name to the reservation list and this will guarantee you admission.

 

ONE HAND CAN’T CLAP- INSIDE THE INDIE LABEL
Independent doesn’t mean alone. Artists and producers are just the beginning. This panel will offer insight into the supporting players that no successful reggae label can do without: managers, lawyers, A & R directors, and marketing directors will describe their roles. The goal of this panel is to help you understand what you should and shouldn’t expect of key business relationships.

MARKETING & DISTRIBUTION IN CYBERSPACE

An in-depth look at how digital delivery can increase your bottom line. Discussion will address the economic opportunities that are available including downloads and ringtones. Panelists will also discuss the benefits of using the internet to market your act to talent buyers and promoters.

 

REGGAE “NOMICS”: A THINK TANK

Advances and changes in the entertainment industry as a whole have opened up new opportunities. But, first we need to define ourselves as an industry. How can we parlay the grassroots popularity of reggae into an economic reality without watering down our spirit and integrity? With vinyl fading fast and cd singles not being cost effective, what will determine a hit single in the future? From the simple to the sublime- this will be an open discussion about where we want to take our industry in the next 5 years.
