Rise Up explores the profound impact of reggae via the stories of three up-and-coming artists determined to rise up from the ghettos of Kingston and Jamaica’s underground music scene and have their voices heard on the worldwide stage. This rousing documentary features music and appearances by legendary artists like Lee “Scratch” Perry, Sly Dunbar, and Robbie Shakespeare.  These artists demonstrate the raw power of hope and courage in a land which is largely unseen, but certainly not unsung.
