The Return Of Reggae Sunsplash in Jamaica

After a 9-year break Reggae Sunsplash is back under new management and at a new venue. The festival, which began in 1978, was last held in Jamaica in 1997. It attracted thousands of people to Jamaica each year at the height of its popularity.

The new home will be the seafront 200 acres property Richmond Estate in St. Ann. The estate has the capacity to accommodate over 150,000 persons.

The festival will be held August 3 – August 6th and the featured artists include Culture, Steel Pulse, Toots and the Maytals, Freddie McGregor, Morgan Heritage, Buju Banton, Beenie Man, Elephant Man, Diana King, Maxi Priest, Wyclef Jean and UB40.

Sunsplash 2006 will follow the format of the previous festivals with a musically packed schedule:
Dancehall Night – Thursday, August 3rd, 2006
Worldbeat Night -Friday, August 4th, 2006
International Night – Saturday August 5th, 2006
Singers’ Night – Sunday, August 6th, 2006
