PRIZM Hosts Atlanta Hurricane Relief Drive to Benefit Haiti SATURDAY AND SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 21 & 20 AT WRFG RADIO 1083 AUSTIN AVENUE
After suffering the blows of four storms in just over three weeks, the people of the Caribbean nation of Haiti are struggling to overcome the devastation as the international community heeds the call for aid.
Atlanta, GA PRIZM International Concepts has organized a relief drive in Atlanta, Georgia in response to the high demand for need in Haiti. The effects of Tropical Storm Fay and Hurricane Gustav in August, and Tropical Storm Hanna and Hurricane Ike in September have left behind a path of destruction in which hundreds of lives have been lost, with thousands more left homeless, and the infrastructure is disarray.
On Saturday, September 20th from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM, and Sunday, September 21st from NOON – 6:00 PM a relief drive will be held at WRFG Radio located at 1083 Austin Avenue, Atlanta, Georgia 30307. Donors are asked to bring non-perishable foods, personal hygiene products, can openers, bottled water, and clothing (infant to adult). Volunteers are also needed to assist on both days. PRIZM has also teamed up with the non-profit organization, Carma Foundation that will be holding a related drive in Miami, Florida. All items collected in Atlanta will be combined with those collected in Miami and distributed to the affected population in Haiti. Tax-deductible monetary contributions are also welcome and can securely be made by visiting www.carmafoundation.org.
