This month, Lee “Scratch” Perry’s new album REVELATION received a Grammy® nomination in the Best Reggae Album category. Now in stores on the MEGAWAVE label, REVELATION presents the signature surrealistic and eccentric rhythmic genius of The Mighty Upsetter, featuring 13 of his best new songs in years with long-time collaborator Steve Marshall, Duncan & Green, Tim Hill, Keith Richards, George Clinton, Dr Sleepy, Alec Hay, elodieO, Abi Browning, and David Stewart Jones. Highlights include rock n’ roll legend Keith Richards on “Books of Moses” and a Lee “Scratch” Perry duet with George Clinton on “Scary Politicians”.
REVELATION was produced by Marshall AKA John Saxon for State of Emergency, Ltd. Taking a hands-on approach, Perry not only fleshed out and developed the powerful lyrical content on the album, but also contributed his unmistakable sound including synth programming.
REVELATION follows the controversial SCRATCH CAME, SCRATCH SAW, SCRATCH CONQUERED, featuring Keith Richards, George Clinton, Reuben White, Tim Hill, Erica Iji, Mark Mason and Sheridan Tandy, and the Grammy® nominated THE END OF AN AMERICAN DREAM, all on the MEGAWAVE label.
The 53rd Annual Grammy® Awards will be announced on February 13, 2011.
