The culminating event of  Heritage Month celebrations in the state will be the Caribbean-American Heritage Festival, Saturday, June 25th, 11:00 a.m. – 6 p.m., at the Waterfire Arts Centre. Caribbean-Americans in Rhode Island will join thousands across numerous American cities proudly showcasing the music, food and art of their culture and celebrating the personal and professional achievements of Caribbean-Americans.

Rhode Island kicked off its Caribbean Heritage Month on June 18th at the Aqua Blue Hotel, Narragansett, with a mini-festival.  “It’s been a fantastic month of celebration so far,” said Andrew Sharpe, Founder/Chairman of ACF. “We have carved out a special place in the American society and are firmly part of its rich history.”

June 2022 marks the 17th year since the proclamation of National Caribbean-American Heritage Month by then President of the United States of America, George W. Bush. Since then Proclamations have been issued each June by successive presidents.
