Richie Spice’s arrival and performance in Nairobi, Kenya for his 2 venue concert titled ‘In the Streets to Kenya’, was welcomed by his African fans with much fanfare. On arrival, Richie was greeted by members of the Rastafarian community who were honoured to be in the presence of a messenger of Jah and marked the occasion by washing his feet. “I never feel so welcomed and loved in a foreign land” Richie remarked.
On Friday May 4, Richie performed to a crowd of over 9,000 Kenyans at The Splash. After a day of rest and sightseeing he finished at the Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday May 6. Humphrey Omondi Myaoro, a patron who attended the Sunday concert, emailed Fifth Element Records to show his appreciation for Richie’s performance:
“I watched Richie Spice live on stage. I consider that one of the precious moments in my life. Here in Kenya we love reggae and we come out in large numbers to watch various artists. I would like you to organise another trip for him in Africa again before the end o this year.”
Richie is now touring Europe performing in Holland, Belgium, Sweden, Germany, France, Italy and Rotterdam. He returns to Jamaica at the end of May and promises to perform in Africa in the near future.
