Rising Stars To Air IN New York In February 15, 2009

The Caribbean International Network (CIN TV) is proud to announce the second airing of Rising Stars, on Ch. 73 starting Sunday, February 15th, at 7:00 p.m. and reaching the five boroughs of New York.

“Rising Stars” which is similar to “American Idol”, is the number one reality talent show on local television in Jamaica. It showcases untapped Jamaican talent and brings it to the forefront in fine style. The contestants each reflect a different part of Jamaican culture and music, showing the diversity of our nation.

Rising Stars is the most watched programme in the history of Jamaican television and regularly attracts an estimated one million viewers, which peaked last year at 1.6 million for the final results show. The show’s overwhelming popularity resulted in a riot two year ago at the live final, and police had to be called to disburse the over-capacity audience.

The show now has a new host who is young, vivacious and a former “Miss Jamaica World” … Yendi Phillips. The celebrity judges are Nadine Sutherland (singer), Anthony Miller (host of Entertainment Report) and Clyde Mckenzie (music producer).

The excitement that Rising Stars generates each week will attract a large audience of the over 2 million Caribbean’s in the Tri-state (New York, New Jersey and Connecticut) and deliver for sponsors the ideal platform to grow their brand and sales. In this period of economic weakness, exports need to grow and CIN provides you with an efficient platform to reach a huge Caribbean audience each week. CIN has for the past sixteen years been the only regularly scheduled television service for the New York Caribbean-American community.
