Royal Hawk And Golf Club Of Miami #1 Lead Jamaica Invitational Pro-Am “Annie’s Revenge” After Round One

The fourth annual Jamaica Invitational Pro-Am “Annie’s Revenge”, presented by NIKE GOLF teed off on Thursday, December 3 with some thirty-eight teams from the United States, Canada and Europe vying for top honors.

At the close of play on Day One of the three round tournament, being played on two of Jamaica’s best golf courses Cinnamon Hill and White Witch in Montego Bay, the Golf Club of Miami #1 and Royal Hawk of Illinois lead the 54-hole event respectively, each with a score of 55.

Rounding out the top three at Cinnamon Hill behind leaders, the Golf Club of Miami #1 are Allegheny Country Club and North Fork Country Club #3 who trail by two strokes on 57 and Bonaventure Golf Club, Curacao Golf & Squash Club, Spanish Oaks Golf Club and Tupper Lake Country Club each on 60.

Over at White Witch, Royal Hawk leads their nearest rivals by four strokes: the Country Club at Woodloch Springs, Forest Heights Country Club, TPC Twin Cities, Silverstone Golf Club and Laughlin Ranch Golf Club on 59 and defending champions Medinah Country Club, Manufacturers Golf & Country Club #1, Congressional Country Club and Butte Creek Golf Club each on 60.

In the professional category, Casey Brozek of Crystal Lake, John Pillar of the Country Club at Woodloch Springs and Mike Scully of Medinah County Club each shot a first round 73 to be tied at White Witch while at Cinnamon Hill, John Aber of Allegheny Country Club with a first round 70 leads Bob Casper of Alpine Country Club and Mike Tobiason of DuPont Country Club tied on 72.

The three round event being played using the one best ball net format, continues on Friday, December 4, culminating with the championship round on Saturday, December 5, 2009.

Professionals will be competing for a $10,000 cash prize, while amateurs will vie for prizes donated by sponsors American Airlines, Nike Golf, Air Jamaica, Ritz Carlton Golf Resort & Spa and The Shoppes at Rose Hall for the exciting hole contests. 

The Jamaica Invitational Pro-Am, presented by NIKE GOLF is managed by The Golf Connection LLC with the support of the Jamaica Tourist Board and host hotel, The Ritz-Carlton Golf & Spa Resort, Rose Hall, Jamaica’s only AAA Five Diamond Resort.
