Multi-talented Jamaican-born singer, songwriter and producer Sadiki has earned a nomination in the prestigious International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) to be held in Trinidad on May 28, 2011. Sadiki is nominated in the category of “Most Promising Entertainer”. This marks the second IRAWMA nomination for Sadiki as he was nominated in 2007.
The prestigious International Reggae and World Music Awards, now in it’s 30th year, highlights the achievements of artists and musicians throughout the world. Past award recipients and performers have included Sean Paul, Shaggy, Damian Marley, Beenie Man, Machel Montana and Alison Hinds.
Sadiki is being recognized for his achievements since the release of his 2010 international lovers rock album “Lifeline” (Skinny Bwoy/Joe Frasier). “Lifeline” along with the album’s first single “African Queen”, both produced by Lloyd Campbell, Jason Sterling and Sadiki, topped the Weekly Star Top 10 Chart. “Lifeline” has also done extremely well in Florida and New York, where it peaked at #2 on both the South Florida Reggae Chart and the New York Reggae Albums Chart.
Sadiki is the only artist so far this year to have two albums (“Lifeline” and the February 2011 release “Fi Di Dancehall” – a collaborative effort with Ace DJ and producer Delly Ranx) on the Netherlands based Reggae-Vibes Chart. The first single from that album “Jamaican Queen” is currently charting on the BBC Reggae World Beat Chart.
