Samuels leads St. Benedict’s to victories in Prime Time Shootout

Newark, NJ (2-11-2008) – High school phenom Samardo Samuels and his St. Benedict’s Prep teammates are walking around campus lighter this morning after the 6’ 9” forward equaled his season-high with 30 points to lead his team to a 68-62 victory over St. Patrick High in the Prime Time Shootout tournament last Saturday night at Rutgers University, Piscataway.

St. Benedict’s (#3 in USA Today’s Top 25) was scoring its first victory over St. Patrick (#13 in USA Today’s Top 25) in six games. Samuels returned on Sunday to score 23 points as St. Benedict’s won its second game of the tournament scoring a resounding 77-63 triumph over Our Savior New American High. The winners are now 21-1 on the season.
