Sanchez and friends Celebrate Reggae Month at the “One Love in the Park” scheduled for Valentine’s Weekend in the Arts Park, Young Circle, Downtown Hollywood

Reggae Month takes center stage with reggae icon, Sanchez and friends at the One Love in the Park, a day fete and concert scheduled for Sunday, February 15 at the Arts Park, Young Circle, Hollywood. Gates open at 2pm. Admission is $ 35 regular and $ 47 VIP.

A combined celebration of reggae and love, patrons are invited to bring their Valentines for a day of activities, arts, craft, food vendors, fun and a great reggae atmosphere.
 
An annual celebration, Reggae Month is an opportunity to embrace the power the music form has had on the world and the various dynamic expressions that are used. Originated in the island of Jamaica, the countries charm and flamboyance has not only been acquired through the Island’s beauty and warm people, but through the diversity of Jamaican musicians and their music.
 
Jamaica is a country that comprises of several forms of music, such as: Lovers Rock, Dub, Dance Hall, Dub Poetry, Toasting, Raggamuffin, Roots Reggae, Kumina, Niyabinghi, Mento, Ska, Rock Steady, Reggae, Sound Systems, and Reggae Fusion, however, not all of these genres of music are heard around the island. There are five types of music that most Jamaicans can identify with, they are Ska, Rock Steady, Dub, Mento and Reggae.
 
Between 2 and 6pm experience “Tabu” a day fete featuring deejays: Glamour Wayne from New York, C-Roy from Miami, HMV from Mirarmar and Gary Sweetness from Ft. Lauderdale. Headliners will take to the stage between 6 and 10pm featuring reggae icon, Sanchez, Wayne Wonder, Gem Myers, Lukie D, Christal Valare and more.
