Cabinet has approved a $90.7 million contract to Marksman Limited for the provision of security services for Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries and its facilities across the island.
Speaking at yesterday’s (September 21) post-Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House, Minister with responsibility for Information, Telecommunications and Special Projects, Hon. Daryl Vaz, said that the contract period is for two years.
He informed that the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries has been using the services of private security companies in excess of nine years, to provide security for its facilities across the island, and to ensure the safety of its staff and property.
The contract was awarded based on the recommendations of the National Contracts Commission and the Infrastructure Subcommittee.
