After an overwhelming performance at the 2007 Miss Jamaica USA Pageant this past weekend, Grammy nominated Reggae songstress Sheila Hylton will be celebrating her Jamaican heritage as a featured performer at the 45th Anniversary Jamaica Independence Celebration at Zanzibar in Washington DC on Friday, August 3rd.
Hosted by the Embassy of Jamaica, Sheila will be performing singles from her new album Steppin at ‘Jamaica Night at Zanzibar .’ Hosted by the Embassy of Jamaica, the event also features the Bare Essentials Band from Jamaica and Sprang International.
A rootsy range of Funk, Soul, Jazz, and Rhythm & Blues with a Reggae backdrop, Steppin continues where Sheila left off with the spunky Reggae-funk version of Sting & The Police’s “The Bed’s Too Big Without You.” Steppin is available online at www.sheilahylton.com and www.amazon.com.
