With the current global pandemic, more people are searching for ways to be entertained while in the safety of their homes. In comes Ignite-A-Bell Production following the heels of its last successful online play (SChAMpagne Popping), with Living Dangerously; a comedy drama that tells the story of a woman secretly in an abusive relationship. When her nosy neighbor discovers this secret, she tries to fix the problem herself and all hell breaks loose. Living Dangerously is set to stream Saturday October 31, 2020 at 7pm EST on Facebook Live and is expected to attract hundreds of theatre fans from the Jamaican diaspora.
The play stars the on and off Christian character ‘Sister Passion’ played by Trudy Bell; whose skits have gone viral with her witty lines and humorous stories. Bell, who is also, the writer has toured overseas in the past with plays like The Plumber and Ova Mi Dead (where she played Melcita, also from the Jamaican TV series, Joint Tenants). She also plays Dashouta Rhode and Penelope in her online skits. The play also features renowned actress Deon Silvera whose experience in the industry spans more than 30 years; allowing her to build a large repertoire, having featured in numerous classics. Her work includes plays like Front Room, Jamaica 50 to Rhatid, Ring Games, and TV sitcoms and movies, like Oliver at Large, The Mighty Quinn, Better Mus Come and many more. Other co-stars include seasoned actor Dennis Hall known as Likkle Wicked from Unda Mi Nose 3 (who has also appeared in the movie Better Mus Come ) as well as Andrew Kelly (University of Delcita) and Georgina Johnson-Jones. Orville ‘Xpressionz’ Hall artistic director of Dance Xpressionz and longstanding judge on the dance show, Dancing Dynamite; adds his touch as director.
