The hardcore rub a dub Reggae single comes ahead of the star-studded Solar Riddim riddim-driven album to be released on June 18 on the SimmerDown Sounds and White Stone Productions labels distributed by Tuff Gong International.
SimmerDown Sounds and White Stone Productions (Jubba White) flow first intersected in Bend, Oregon while Jubba was in town playing drums in Warrior King’s touring band. SimmerDown eventually would go on to host Jubba and Dubtonic Kru for stage shows leading to Jubba working with DJ Colonel on a closer level. Then the Covid pandemic tranformed the world, touring stopped and musicians that could gain work in the studio were fortunate. Jubba has been very productive in recent months in the studio . Since SimmerDown wasn’t scheduling live stage shows due to pandemic they shifted movements towards a project with Jubba. Jubba and Colonel from the beginning of their partnership expressed interest in collaborating on a riddim album project. With a hiatus from active touring and not being on road, the Solar Riddim was born. The artists (Jubba White x Frassman Brilliant x Arturas) on the first single “Rise and Shine“ plus the rest of the album line-up featuring outstanding performances by Mykal Rose, Twiggi, Perfect Giddimani, Turbulence, Prezident Brown, Aaron Nigel Smith, Tuff Like Iron, and Ranking Joe.
The Solar Riddim was written and arranged by Jubba White with participation from Cliff Manswell and Theodore Bernard. Additional musicians featured are Steve Golding (Roots Radics) on guitar and Micah Shalom on brass.

Seth Fridae aka DJ Colonel (SimmerDown Sounds) is a family man, DJ, producer, promoter and host of a long-running Reggae radio show at KRXF 92/9FM in Bend, Oregon for 16 years. He is immersed in Reggae music from the root to the fruit working in production, promotion, and live broadcasting. DJ Colonel also promoter/talent buyer for Reggae shows and festivals in the state of Oregon on the USA where he has worked with many of the music’s top performing artists.

Jubba also led his band Dubtonic Kru to victory, representing themselves and Jamaica in the Global Battle of the Bands multi genre competition in 2010 in Malaysia.
