The original High School Movie is back as The Miramar Cultural Center ArtsPark concludes The Family Theater Series, sponsored by Waste Pro, with Sing-a-long-a Grease on Sunday, May 4 at 3 p.m. This unique, interactive show features the original movie musical Grease, while encouraging audience members to channel their inner “Sandy” and “Danny” and dance and sing along with all the hits audiences have come to know and love.

Every performance begins with Sing-a-long-a Grease hosts leading a vocal warm-up and demonstrating how to “hand-jive.”  Audience members receive a free fun pack with special props for the “magic moments” that make the afternoon even more fun.

Grease hosts also will judge a pre-show costume contest, so audience members are encouraged to come dressed in the 50s grab worn at Rydell High, including poodle skirts, saddle shoes, chiffon scarves, skinny ties, black leather or powder-pink bomber jackets and shades for the chance to win prizes.

“It’s the one that you want,” says producer Ben Freedman, who previously created Sing-a-long-a Sound of Music. “Sing-a-long-a Grease is the show that audiences have been asking for since we first presented a sing-a-long show back in 1999.”

Audiences won’t want to miss this exciting chance to watch Sandy, Danny and the gang, while singing and dancing along to the lyrics on the screen of “Summer Lovin’,” “Grease Lightening,” “You Better Shape Up” and all the classics.

Each performance during the Family Theater Series also includes an art activity provided by Young At Art Museum, face painting, storytelling and a visit from Family Theater Mascot Buddy the Bookworm.
