The Alliance of Jamaican Alumni Associations (Toronto)
The 21st edition of SOCCERFEST will be held on Sunday July 23, 2006 at the G.Ross Lord Park in Toronto.
Defending champions Rusea’s heads a group of fifteen teams which will challenge for the Bell/Zadie Memorial Trophy. The others are: Calabar, Clarendon College, Cornwall College (last year’s runners –up), Edwin Allen, Ferncourt, Holmwood, Jamaica College, Kingston College, Kingston Technical, Meadowbrook , Morant Bay, Munro/Hampton, Nain and Titchfield (first time entrant).
Included in the day’s activity will be an exhibition game between two of Toronto’s Youth Club Teams ; in addition to the traditional Masters Invitational Game (over 40) and the VMBS Invitational.
Play is scheduled to get under way at 9.15a.m.
Soccerfest is organized by The Alliance of Jamaican Alumni Associations (Toronto) and is sponsored by VMBS and VLINK Money Transfer.
The AJAA is a Toronto based non profit and resource organization comprised of over forty member alumni associations that are affiliated with educational institutions in Jamaica. Formerly organized in 1988 the AJAA was incorporated under the laws of the Province of Ontario on January 21, 1993 and was granted charitable status by Revenue Canada on March 30, 1994.
SOCCERFEST is a Toronto summer event. Its objective is the furtherance of cooperation among the alumni associations in Canada.
