Miss Jamaica World 2017 and Miss World Caribbean, Solange Sinclair is currently in Indonesia as part of a 42-day Miss World Beauty with a Purpose Service Tour which began on January 30. The tour also includes visits to India, China, USA, British Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
Led by Miss World CEO, Julia Morley, the Miss World touring team includes Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar, Miss World 2016 Stephanie Del Valle along with the Miss World Continental Queens of Beauty 2017, Miss Caribbean Solange Sinclair, Miss Americas Andrea Meza, Miss Africa Magline Jeruto, Miss Asia Haeun Kim, Miss Oceania Annie Evans and Miss Europe Stephanie Hill.
While in India the touring party launched a Feminine Hygiene Awareness Campaign which formed part of the Beauty with a Purpose project which the reigning Miss World, Manushi Chhillar, presented at Miss World 2017. In China, the team appeared live at the Chinese New Year celebrations on the National TV station CCTV.
Miss Jamaica World, Solange Sinclair had this to say about her 10-day visit to India: “The culture, food, hospitality, rainbow of colours and warm atmosphere certainly left an impression on me. However, the vitality, vibrancy and resilience of her people has left a mark in my heart forever.”
In addition to appearing at the Miss Indonesia final, the team will be visiting the Indonesian Beauty with a Purpose projects of past and present to see how they have changed the lives of those affected.
Since the devastating hurricane which affected the Caribbean last year, Julia Morley has been speaking with the Miss World License Holder from the British Virgin Islands to see what Miss World can do to help those in need in BVI. In addition to meetings and visits, the team will attend a Charity Gala to help raise much needed funds.
