The event will feature local reggae band, Dis N Dat, a silent auction, delicious food and a spirit that will most assuredly raise the roof. The Honorable Audrey Marks, Jamaica’s Ambassador to the United States, will attend as a special guest and patron. Event sponsors include NuGen Capital, Second Avenue Capital Partners and Foundation 33:11.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Ambassador Marks to our event, and to share with her and all of our guests our impact to date, as well as the absolute joy we experience through our work on behalf of Jamaica’s neediest students,” explains co-founder Easton Dickson.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by visiting Reading Owls’ Jammin’ for Books! event page, www.readingowlsinternational.org/jamminforbooks.

Reading Owls International was founded in 2013 by Elaine and Easton Dickson, Jamaican-born residents of Cumberland, RI, with a mission of increasing the literacy rates of Jamaica’s disadvantaged school-aged children by partnering with schools and community organizations to provide access to books and other learning resources. To date, Reading Owls has built or supplemented 24 libraries, donated over 29,800 books and impacted the lives of over 7,000 children.
