Jamaica was the host destination for the Iberostar Jamaica Sports Invitational, which benefitted Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s Waterkeeper Alliance. The four day affair, which was supported by the Jamaica Tourist Board, saw a number of celebrities from across the United States attend the event in Montego Bay. 

Jamaica’s Director of Tourism John Lynch was pleased with the outcome and Jamaica’s support of the Waterkeeper Alliance. “We are thrilled to have hosted this worthy event for an organization whose underlying mission promotes sustainable development. Our efforts to preserve the natural beauty of Jamaica, including the abundance of water bodies, parallels the goal of the Waterkeeper Alliance, therefore Jamaica is pleased to have invested in this successful partnership.”

The one hour telecast shows celebrities and notables, including Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Gloria Reuben, Lorenzo Lamas, Natasha Bedingfield, Mimi Rogers, Buzz Aldrin and Rosie Perez compete in a series of challenges including golf, kayaking, beach volleyball, poker tournament and a scavenger hunt, all designed to showcase the diverse offerings of Jamaica and the host hotel, Iberostar. The event culminated in a Gala, awards ceremony, and live auction where legendary rocker Peter Frampton performed. The live auction raised over $100,000 for the Waterkeeper Alliance.  Viewers will see celebrities unwind and embrace the beauty and culture of Jamaica while working towards the benefit of the Waterkeeper Alliance that endeavors to achieve its purpose as “The Voice for the World’s Waters.”
