March 16, 2010 was a milestone day in the life of Northgate C-TEC, as the organization was awarded accreditation status by the National Council on Technical and Vocational Education and Training, (NCTVET) to conduct training and assessment in the programme: Data Operation Level 1.
Pastor Wesley Boynes, Chairman of Northgate C-TEC said the organization has been engaged in the accreditation process since 2006. During this period, policies and procedures on training and assessment methods were developed, evaluated and refined.
Pastor Boynes noted that although the process had been a lengthy one, the experience gained was invaluable. He said each challenge encountered was examined and used as a medium to strengthen the training programme and establish a more robust system that would benefit both the clients and staff on the journey to becoming a premier training institution.
Speaking about the benefits to be gained by becoming an accredited training organization, Director of Northgate C-TEC, Gernos Gibbs, said this had positioned the organization to offer training in any of the 17 units under the NCTVET Data Operations Level 1 standard.
He said this new development, while assuring quality of delivery and assessment methods, would undoubtedly expand Northgate C-TEC while achieving its mandate to empower individuals for the global environment.
Northgate C-TEC is an arm of the Northgate Youth and Family Development Foundation (NYFDF).
