New York, NY (Ms. Raine Inc.): Popular New York City sound selector/entrepreneur Steelie Bashment kicks off the City’s Caribbean carnival weekend with his highly anticipated annual anniversary bash, this year featuring New York’s latest Hip Hop hustler Maino, and hosted by Dancehall’s ‘energy god’ Elephant Man. The Steelie Bashment 17th Anniversary Pool Party is slated for Brooklyn’s C-Pac on Thursday, August 28th, and features Steelie Bashment alongside the biggest sound names from Jamaica and New York including the Immortal Stone Love, Hot 97’s Mr. Cee, Fire Links, and Dutty Friday’s Gary Chucks.
Known as “The Big Clock of Brooklyn” Steelie Bashment is celebrating 17 years as one of New York’s most rated Caribbean entertainment forces. His annual anniversary celebration has grown into one of the City’s anticipated events whose past attendees have included virtually every artist from Sizzla and Buju Banton, to Busta Rhymes and John Legend.
This year’s host, Elephant Man, is currently riding high on Dancehall charts around the globe with his latest single “Gully Creepa,” and off of his latest album Let’s Get Physical, released by Bad Boy Records in April, and which peaked at #1 on Billboard’s Top Reggae Albums. Maino, one of Brooklyn’s latest Hip Hop gems, will be performing his current street anthem “Hi Haters” which has been climbing the Billboard Top 100 over the past two weeks, going from #40 to its current position at #26.
“Every year, the Steelie Bashment Anniversary is a sold-out affair,” states Steelie Bashment, who is also the founder of Brooklyn’s popular Waah Gwan Internet Radio. “This year due to the current economic conditions with gas and food prices being so high, we are trying to have the entertainment and vibes at a maximum, while keeping the cost to a minimum, so everyone can come from near and far to celebrate 17 years of music and entertainment with Steelie Bashment.”
Steelie Bashment’s 17th Anniversary Pool Party, featuring Elephant Man and Maino will be held on Thursday, August 28th at C-PAC in Brooklyn, NY. Tickets are $20 in advance. For advance tickets call Faye & Kings Restaurant at 718-940-1129 or visit www.steeliebashment.com.
