Kingston, Jamaica – The Saint International, world-renowned event, STYLE WEEK JAMAICA began today with a Designer Seminar and Fashion Summit.
Fashion Summit is geared at bringing all the stakeholders together to understand how each impact the other, especially the designers. Designers will also understand the relationship between themselves and retailers as well as what the standard for export is.
The Buyer’s Lounge, which will make its debut tomorrow, is hosted by the Jamaica Business Development Centre and will bring designers and strong, potential buyers (cloth retailers, boutique owners) together.
Later this evening, Amsterdam designer Bas Koster will preview his new collection before today’s mega-event takes place. The Menswear Collection featuring the best that Jamaica has to offer speckled with international men’s lines will be hosted at the Mona’s Visitors Lodge beginning at 8pm. The day wraps us with the Style Week Jamaica After Party at Carlos’ Café.

SWJ features four days of shows, after-parties, developmental seminars, international editorial photo-shoots and underscores this remarkable effort to have Jamaica strongly positioned as a serious fashion/lifestyle market.
