A rather grand affair is planned for gospel aficionados and others who just love great music this Saturday at World Harvest Community Church to witness and enjoy the musical offerings of Sharon Wiles and Friends. The event dubbed “An Evening Of Praise and Worship,” marks the launching of Sharon Wiles’ Gospel Album in the USA. Showtime is 6:30 pm sharp and admission is free.
Sharon’s USA album launch scheduled this Saturday April 10, 2010 at World Harvest Community Church of God, 1601 Lauderdale Manor Drive in Fort Lauderdale, features Sharon Wiles along with friends: Junior Tucker, Shirley Willis, Supremacy, Jody McCalla and True Worshipers, 10 year old Abigail Givens, The Faith Center Mass Choir & Praise Team, Douglas Bramwell and Dawn Martin. Also appearing are Papa San, Second Chance and Glacia Robinson. With popular MCs John T of Radio Waves 1170 AM, Renford Williams and Nadine Blair of Love 101 FM Kingston, this will surely be a night to remember!
Those already familiar with Sharon’s work, already know they are in for a special treat. This debut album is entitled: “It’s Not Over,” and features Stitchie, Prodigal Son with background vocals by Chevelle Franklin, Dawn Martin and Duwayne Hoilett of the Code Red Band.The debut album’s pre-release in November 2009 on Antigua’sTV Good Morning Antigua was aired throughout the entire Eastern Caribbean. The Jamaican pre-release saw over fifteen hundred turning out to what many recollect as a “wonderfully memorable event.” These pre-releases have generated such popularity and acceptance that the album not only already enjoys top-four status on Caribbean radio, but has also been rated “best presented album” by stations playing the CD worldwide.
A native of Jamaica, Sharon who was born in Mandeville, Manchester began singing at the age of four at the Beulah Universal Church of God in concerts and church rallies. At age twelve she surrendered her life to God and became a member of the Youth Choir and Praise Team at the Faith Temple Church of God in St. Catherine. She has traveled throughout Jamaica with the Bishop W.A Blair, was a lead singer with the Children of Light Gospel Group and participated in the Youth for Christ events for many years. She was a member of Faith Center Choir and Praise Team, under the anointed leadership of Minister Jonathan Nelson. Sharon continues ministering as a member of True Worshipers, led by Minister Jody McCalla of the Faith Center in Fort Lauderdale..
Her international resume lists among others, performances at (omitted”the”)Super Bowl USA with Israel Houghton and New Breed, as well as sharing stage with well-known artists such as Donnie Mc Clurkin, Kirk Franklin, Ce Ce Winans, Vickie Winans, Martha Manizzi, Helen Baylor, Byran Cage, Beverly Crawford, Canton Jones, Ron Connolly, Karen Clark Sheard, Chevelle Franklin, Carlene Davis, Ambassador Stitchie ,Papa San and the Grace Thrillers just to name a few.
Sharon’s music is versatile, flowing across different styles as her ministry continues to excel, capturing the attention of her audience wherever she ministers.
