Jamaica Cultural Alliance (JCA) presents its 9th Annual Tea Party on Sunday, July 8th, 1-4 pm at La Terza Restaurant, 8384 W. 3rd St., Los Angeles.

A fashion show by Pinky Rose, a LA upscale boutique, will get the soiree rolling which befits this year’s theme, “Dressing Up.” In addition, awards will be given out for the best-dressed man and woman.

JCA promotes global awareness, education and exchange of Caribbean/West Indian arts, culture and history. Their 2006 “A Grande Evening At The Theatre” has become an annual event showcasing Jamaican playwrights. Debra Ehrhardt’s successful long-running, one-woman show, “Jamaica, Farewell,” kicked off this series and Ehrhardt is the first Jamaican to have her work accepted into the juried New York Fringe Festival taking place this August. JCA has set up a partnership with the Blazer Learning Center in So. Center L.A. to establish the JCA Caribbean West Indian Club which provides mentoring for children and youth of the culture. Proceeds from this event support these art and cultural programs.

Come for the tea, the fashion show, a best-dressed contest and above all, the Jamaican spirit.
