The Quilt Performing Arts Company – Contacting the World International Theatre Festival

Spread the love

Meet Quilt,

We are a group of performers, dancers, singers, actors and writers based in Kingston Jamaica who have been selected to perform in the annual Contacting The World Theatre Festival in Manchester, England.

Our unique blend of artistic technique influenced the invitation given to us by the festival which saw a whopping 97 international companies applying. Being one of the six chosen and the only company from the regions of North and South America, we are excited to continue our artistic journey which began several months ago through creative exchange with the other companies. The journey culminates with the festival in July which promises to be a huge platform for us and our culture. Our group has gained a steady momentum of followers who appreciate our art and has been acknowledged by various institutions through awards.

We aim to preserve and share our Jamaican culture and our unique approaches to art with the world. The journey so far has been hard but we have lots of hope despite our financial constraints. We are currently attempting to raise funds for 19 performers to travel to the festival.
