UNIFEST is the oldest Caribbean multicultural event in Broward County. The event is an array of cultural mix and creativity designed to unify people and showcase their diverse cultures. It brings cultural education and awareness to the community through varied activities, e.g., business expo, health fair, immigration corner, mini carnival costume parade and parade of countries by South Florida Band Leaders Association, arts and sports, Caribbean foods and culminates with a concert under the stars, featuring for 2012, Reggae Super Star ‘Luciano’. Soca Sensation “Iwer George and Leon Coldero and Code 868 band’, Trinidadian comedian ‘Paul Keens-Douglas’ and Jamaica’s ‘Blakka Ellis’ among others.
UNIFEST is the official kick-off to the month of June “National Caribbean American Heritage Month”. This year the event is also celebrating the 50th Independence Anniversary of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica.
