The Jamaica College Old Boys  defeated the St. George’s College Old Boys to claim the 2012 Ziadie Cup on Saturday, March 17th, 2012. It was their second Ziadie Cup win since the tournament began 8 years ago. The Jamaica College over-40 team played the St. George’s College over-40 team to a 2-2 draw in the Grand Masters match. In the Under-40 Masters match Jamaica College defeated St. George’s College 2-1. The trophy is awarded based on an aggregate score of both matches with Jamaica College winning 3-2.  In the opening match the Dade Invitational Team defeated the Broward invitational team 6-1.

The Jamaican Alumnae ladies displayed their skills in the Grace Kennedy Remittance Services/ Western Union All Girls Schools Alumni Penalty Kick-off.  The Montego Bay High School Alumnae emerged as the winner in the final round defeating the Queen’s High School Past Students’ Association Florida Chapter. Grace Kennedy Remittance Services/ Western Union will make $100 cash donation to the winning school and $50 cash donation to the second place school.

It was great True Blue weekend as Jamaican nationals from around the world were able to reunite old classmates from their high school in Jamaica. Over 1500 people attended the 3-day True Blue Weekend event, including the annual Ziadie Cup at the state-of-the-art for Ansin Sports Complex in Miramar. True Blue attendees were treated to weekend of music, food and 3 exciting soccer matches.
