The Launch Of Jamaica Cultural Enterprises, October 30, 2010, Kingston

On Saturday, October 30, 2010, Jamaica Cultural Enterprises (JCE) will officially launch its tour products at Grosvenor Galleries in Kingston, Jamaica at 7 pm. Jamaica Cultural Enterprises (JCE), licensed by Jamaica’s Tourism Product Development Company, will specialise in cultural tours showcasing Jamaican art, music, religion, history, and people. The first products to be introduced are:

  • The Kingston Art Trek – participants will tour various galleries scattered around Kingston and St. Andrew and interact with local curators and artists;
  • The Kingston City Explorer – guests will journey through the streets of our vibrant and inimitable capital city learning about its heritage, visiting museums, parks, historic sites, music studios, and religious persons.

Additionally there is a great cultural experience in store for persons on the North Coast involving exploration of St. Ann, St. Mary, and Trelawny. Also, JCE is happy to do custom tours for individuals and groups.

The tours are aimed at both locals, who are given a chance to discover much of what remains hidden in plain sight, and at foreigners, who will realise that there is much more to Jamaica than the beach.

The richness of the JCE experience comes from the content of the tour informed by in depth research; the warmth of our friendly, cheerful, and informed tour guides; and the ease with which we allow our clients to book tours and make payments. Here culture meets professionalism meets genuine Jamaican heart.

JCE was started by entrepreneur Karen Hutchinson who has a strong belief in the value of the creative and cultural industries in Jamaica. Ms. Hutchinson, who has dedicated significant time to researching the secrets of Jamaican heritage and culture, has been duly trained and certified by the Ministry of Tourism. She holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from IESE, Universidad de Navarra and a Bachelors of Science (BSc.) from the University of the West Indies in Management Studies with Economics. She has written for various local publications including ECCO Magazine, The Sunday Herald, and The Jamaica Observer, on topics as varied as Environmental Awareness, Retirement Planning, and theatre.

Jamaica Cultural Enterprises plans to become known as THE provider of cultural tours in Jamaica.
