Montreal Reggae Festival Salutes The Legend :Three Days Of Free Musical Tributes To Bob Marley – July 14 th-16th 2006

Montreal, QC/New York, NY (July 5th 2006) – The 3rd annual Montreal International Reggae Festival 2006 this July 14th-16th at the Old Port of Montreal (Jacques Cartier Pier and Place Bonsecours Pier) pays homage to the man responsible for putting Reggae music on the international map. Located at the entrance of Place Bonsecours Pier the Bob Marley Tribute Stage is three days of performances—including an exclusive multi-media presentation by Roger Steffens with previously unreleased footage—celebrating the contributions of Reggae’s most famous son, free of charge and open to the public.

One of the highlights of the The Montreal International Reggae Festival’s Bob Marley Tribute Stage is the Canadian premiere of Roger Steffens’s Life of Bob Marley, a multi-media presentation featuring rare and unreleased footage of the Legend at work. An acclaimed actor, author, broadcaster, lecturer, photographer, producer and curator, Steffens—whose Reggae Archive is said to be the world’s largest collection of reggae music history—is hosting this exclusive interactive experience, giving fans a unique look into the life, times, and music of the late great Bob Marley.

Acclaimed actor and musician Ky-mani Marley, one of Montreal International Reggae Festival’s featured performers, will also pay tribute to his legendary father at the Bob Marley Tribute Stage alongside local and international Roots, Lover’s Rock, and Dancehall Reggae artists.

The Montreal International Reggae Festival is a three-day outdoor festival in celebration of Reggae and Caribbean music, featuring the very best in Reggae, Dancehall, Calypso, Soca, and Reggaeton straight from the Caribbean. A-List performers include international Dancehall sensation Shaggy, socially-conscious Roots crooner Richie Spice, Reggae ambassador
