Tony Anthony Nominated For Juno Award In Canada

The accolades continue to rise on Tony Anthony and his debut album “Million Chance”. On February 1st the album was nominated in the “Best Reggae Recording of the Year” category of the 2011 Juno Awards to be held on March 27th in Toronto, Canada.

Since its release in April of 2010, “Million Chance” has received rave reviews worldwide and has appeared and topped several charts.

The album went number one in Jamaica on the Richie B top ten album charts and also topped the Canadian Reggae countdown for several weeks. “Million Chance” peaked at number 5 on the top 50 recommended reggae album chart in Europe and it is currently riding the New York and South Florida Top 20 album charts.

“Torn” the first single released from the album gave Tony Anthony his first number one hit in the Caribbean, Jamaica, and Canada. “Bad News” the second single has already reached number one status in Canada, it is presently number 13 on the Richie B’ JMC top 25 reggae music chart in Jamaica, number 19 on the New York top 30 reggae singles chart and hold the number 16 position on the Caribbean top 30 music charts in the Virgin Islands.

“It is such an honor to be one of the nominees chosen for this prestigious award. It is always a great feeling when your work is appreciated and recognized”, Anthony said.

The JUNO Awards will be held on March 27th and televised live across Canada from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto and hosted by superstar rapper Drake, who is nominated in six categories. The show will be televised live across Canada. Other nominees in the reggae category are Elaine ‘Lil Bit’ Shepherd, Tonya P, Lyndon Johnson (LJX) and Dubmatix.
