Toronto: The Queen of Canadian reggae Tanya Mullings, recipient of 14 Canadian Reggae Music Awards (CRMA), 7 Caribbean Crucible Awards, 4 Juno Nominations and 2 Reggae Music Achievement Awards (RMAA) has signed on as one of the performers at Irie Jamboree, North America’s premier reggae festival, slated to take place at Roy Wilkins Park in New York on Labor Day Sunday August 31, 2008.
Steven ‘Yello’ Williams, one of the executives of Irie Jamboree who travelled to Canada for the launch during the Caribana festivities said, “We are extremely excited to support Canadian talent this year at Irie Jamboree 2008. I am confident we have found the best Canada has to offer.”
Tanya Mullings, who has performed at major international festivals including Reggae Sumfest in Jamaica and the Montreal Reggae Festival in Quebec is the second daughter of the late Karl Mullings, forefather of Canadian Reggae and a co-founder of the world renowned Caribana.
“Tanya’s forthcoming album ‘Music Is My Life’ supports her talents and confirms her position as the top female reggae artist in Canada,” says Carrie Mullings, Manager and President of i.M.O.K. Enterprises.
