Miramar’s Tournament of Champions, INC forms partnership with Ocho Rios High School

Wesley Frater of South Florida Tournament of Champions, INC will form a partnership with Ocho Rios High School in Ocho Rios, Jamaica that will give the school annual donations of athletic products and equipment.  A press conference announcing this partnership will take place on Monday September 8, 2008  10:00 AM at Ocho Rios High School.

I am a proud Jamaican who have been away from the island since 1970.  Owning sports management companies in United States offers me the rare opportunity to obtain athletic products and equipment rather new or used.  Through the foundation started in the name of my mother “Enid May Frater Foundation”, I will make these annual donations and basketball camps at Ocho Rios High.  I want to sincerely thank Sans Souci Resorts and General Manager Pierre Battaglia for making all this possible.  Pierre played the Don King role in all of this linking Wesley up with Ocho Rios High”…Wesley Frater.

Frater founded numerous South Florida scholastic events in Basketball and football…he is well known for his academic and social development symposiums geared specifically for student-athletes.  This is the third stop on his annual summer Caribbean camps, donations and workshops.  June 4-9 he was in Bahamas, July 17-21 Bimini and Jamaica August 31-September 13.

“I am really having a great time visiting different schools and communities that I have a interest in starting a partnership.  I have visited schools in the hills of Bethany Alexandria St. Anns where I was born.  I look forward to also starting a partnership with them.  I visited schools in Browns Town and now Ocho Rios.

I seek the clothing and footwear from all my associates in the NBA and NFL.  I collect leftover equipment from the thousands of athletic events i attend each year.  I have friends in professional sports that are besieged with athletic equipment and clothing/uniforms, balls, shoes…I simply tell them to send it to me for my annual trip to Jamaica. My mother insisted to her grave that I play a vital role in the enhancement of Jamaica youths thru how I know best “Sports”.  I would like to thank Heat Keith Askins, Heat Wali Jones, Heat Udonis Haslem, Heat Alonzo Mourning, Dolphins Louis Oliver and Miramar Parks for all their assistance.
