The tri-state area is buzzing with excitement in anticipation of the second annual world Domino championship of Champions slated to take place at the Ramada Plaza Hotel, JFK, New York on August 31st to September 2nd 2007.

The ‘Championship of Champions’ tournament will feature more than fourteen title-winners from international, national, and regional tournaments competing for the world championship. The tournament is scheduled in three series over two days: The ‘Open’ Mini Series; The Invitational Knockout Series; and ‘Championship.’

A mini-tour preceded the World Championship, which afforded local clubs in Florida, Connecticut , Boston, New Jersey, New York and those from Canada the opportunity to promote the championship, introduce the rules to players and train judges.

World Domino Promotions (WDP) President, Austin Hutchison indicated how delighted he was with the high level of interest in the game and the overwhelming response from the domino community worldwide.

“Registration is on pace to exceed the number of teams the venue and championship can accommodate” he noted.

Austin indicated that the popularity of the game especially among the Caribbean and Latino American communities in the northeast will make this year’s event an overwhelming success.
