Turks And Caicos Comfort Suites Ports Of Call Resort Welcomes New Resort Manager

Seasoned Canadian hotelier David Crofts has taken the reins of the new Comfort Suites Ports of Call resort in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Crofts, with almost 30 years of industry experience, has managed hotels and resorts in Canada, the Cayman Islands, and Turks and Caicos where he was executive assistant manager of the Caribbean Village at Beaches Turks and Caicos over the past three years.

Comfort Suites Ports of Call Resort, a Choice Hotels International franchised property, features 98 rooms with 20 retail shops situated on five acres of prime land by Grace Bay Beach.

The first phase of a US$ 2.5 million renovation has just been completed. It included a total refurbishing of the lobby, breakfast and bar areas, major room renovation with upgraded bathrooms and new furniture in all of the 39 west wing guest rooms. New wicker balcony, terrace and pool furniture enhance the exteriors. A fitness room, hot tub and children’s play area add to the resort’s appeal.

Complimentary breakfast is offered daily and all rooms are non-smoking with Free Wi-Fi connections.

Getting around is much easier thanks to an eight-person golf cart to shuttle guests to and from the beach across the street, where a dedicated area with chaise lounges and umbrellas is provided.

Phase Two of the renovation project which will include the refurbishing of the remaining rooms is scheduled to commence in August 2012 and be completed by the end of October.

David Crofts’ appointment and vast experience is expected to play a key role in the new owner’s – Papke Properties – goal to transform this 12 year-old hotel and shopping plaza into the island’s premier value-priced resort.
