Caribmode Foundation a non-profit organization which showcases the talents of minorities within an educational and cultural arena, proudly celebrates its fifth year as the Ms. Caribbean USA & Miss Teen Caribbean USA event will be filmed for television by Haitain born executive producer Jean Claude LaMarre. Mr. LaMarre is a notable director and producer of such hits as Gangs of Rose (starring Lil Kim, Lisa Raye and Stacey Dash), Nora’s Hair Salon (Tatyanna Ali and Bobby Brown), Go for Broke (Pras and Glenn Plummer) and Color of the Cross; additional television credits include Pastor Jones, a half hour sitcom series. This years title sponsor for the Ms. Caribbean USA & Miss Teen Caribbean USA is Kassava Fine Restaurant located at 8600 West 3rd Street, Los Angeles, CA 90048, a business that Mr. LaMarra is one of the present owners.
Similar to previous pageants done by Caribmode, which began doing these events in New York City over nine years ago and now in Hollywood for the last five years, the current event will again feature prominent CELEBRITY JUDGES and WINNER PRIZES such as: $5,000.00, a diamond necklace by Michelle Laurenti of Beverly Hills, an Appearance in Jean Claude LaMarre Movie and Magazine, a portfolio, gift packages to name a few; the host will be Ms. Camile McDonald, a designer of Lingerware Inc. & former contestant on Tyra Bank’s America’s Next Top Model.

Requirements:
You must be between the ages of 15-17 for the Miss Teen Caribbean USA and ages 18-24 for the Ms. Caribbean USA.
You must be either of birth OR parentage from the Caribbean Islands or territories including Guyana, Belize, Cuba and Puerto Rico residing in the United States of America.
You will have to travel to Los Angeles to compete if selected as a finalist and a discounted travel and hotel package will be offered to you, your friends and families.
The Pageants executive director, Dorcas Moodie Bennett, is the founder of the first ever Mr. Caribbean USA Talent Cultural competition held at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem, also the Ms. Caribbean USA and Teen Caribbean USA Beauty and Talent Pageants. In 2001-2005 she was the writer, co-producer and co-organizer on several of the Singer Michael Jackson’s Events and in 2005 she successfully organized the first Caribbean Golf Tournament in Montego Bay Jamaica. Recently she was the charity spokesperson for the Westside Family YMCA at the Bel Air Country Club donors roundtable reception and assisted the YMCA in raising half million dollars on their 2008-2009 Community Support campaign. Dorcas just completed her Romance Novel “THE DIARY OF A VIRGIN” which will be on sale July 4th 2009.
