On June 5, 2006, President George W. Bush proclaims June 2006, as Caribbean-American
Heritage Month. During Caribbean-American Heritage Month, we celebrate the great
contributions of Caribbean Americans to the fabric of our Nation, and we pay tribute
to the common culture and bonds of friendship that unite the United States and the
Caribbean countries.
Guests will include Caribbean Ambassadors, Members of the Diplomatic Corps, and
various Caribbean artist.
Special Award will be given to Dr. Ivan Van Sertima.
Dr. Ivan Van Sertima was born in Kitty Village, Guyana, South America, Dr. Van
Sertima is a literary critic, a linguist, and an anthropologist, and Nobel Committee
of the Swedish Academy to nominate candidates for the Nobel Prize in Literature from
1976 to 1980.
In celebration of this The United Caribbean American Network of New Jersey (UCAN-NJ)
