Jamaicans first ‘eye-balled’ Ms. Triniti back in 2008 when she released a single titled Bounce Along which not only topped local music charts but went on to hit Billboard Hip Hop/RnB Singles Sales Chart where it peaked at #16. She returned to the island not long after and released another single titled Wi Burning featuring the doctor Beenie Man which also peaked in the Billboard Top 20, then LockDown featuring Vybz Kartel. Triniti was nominated in the category of Best New Artist and Female Vocalist at EME Awards 2007/8.
However these were not Ms. Triniti’s first encounter with Jamaican music and artists. In fact, she has had good connection 2 years prior to her 2008 visit. In 2006 she toured 13 dates with Sean Paul and in 2007, appeared as opening act for Shaggy, Luciano and Maxi Priest. She also did collaborations with Cham and Daville
Of Caribbean roots, Ms. Triniti was born to a Trinidadian Father, and an American Mother, and then raised, between the UK and the Caribbean. Her song writing talents landed licensing deal with Extreme Music, the biggest TV and Film Music Library in the world. Triniti’s songs have already been placed in dozens of major Motion Pictures, TV Shows and commercials, including movies; Two for the Money starring Al Pacino, Zoom featuring Tim Allen, Like Mike II, Center Stage II, and popular reality shows like, Glee, America’s Next Top Model, Keeping up with the Kardashians, Come Fly with Me, Dollhouse, Road Rules, New Girl and Up All Night and a commercial that includes a feature for Dentyne gum. More recently, she won 2 awards at ‘Tanzanian Music Awards 2011’ Best Video & Best Song, nominated for 2 awards at ‘African Music Awards’ for ‘Best Video of the East,’ has an upcoming tour in Lebanon in Nov 2011, released a debut in Italy on Get Up Records/Universal for spring 2012 release and debut her movie acting skills in the Jamaican movie that received rave reviews, Out The Gate.
The sexy Trini/Uk songstress has performed worldwide in Toronto – Caribana Festival, East Africa to include countries like Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda, toured Italy from Galllipoli, Lecce and Sulmona, Rome, Venice, Naples to Genova, performed in New York and Orlando at UCLA Reggae Festivals, performed in Germany at the World Cup Angostura Festival, opened for Fat Joe and Omarion in Ghana. She has sold over two hundred thousand albums and ringtones in Japan featured on eight compilation albums (four of which went GOLD) and recorded with multi platinum producers such as Salaam Remi, Dave Kelly, Mario Winans, Lenky Marsdon, Sly and Robbie.
Now Ms. Triniti returns to the island October 18, 2011, to launch her latest single and video, for her latest song entitled If I Was Ur Girl. She describes her music as, ‘Ragga Hop’ and explained why it is important to her to release her songs in Jamaica, “Jamaica is the mecca of Reggae and Dancehall music. It is the launch pad for the music to reach the rest of the world”. Ms. Triniti said that releasing her music in Jamaica in the past has lead to, “successes in Japan, Europe and more recently Africa.” If I Was Ur Girl according to her, “is personal, it’s one of those scenarios, fantasy. My music is my outlet because it wouldn’t be right for me to tell the person how I really feel” so she sang her heart out in a song. As she look forward to her trip to Jamaica, Ms. Triniti hope Jamaicans will enjoy listening to music that reveals another side of her and appreciate it as they have done with all her other songs.
