According to reports by various Caribbean media sources, Wayne”Sleng Teng” Smith has passed away in a New York hospital. He is the creator of “Sleng Teng” riddim? It was Jamaica’s first computerized riddim. This riddim was instrumental in the dancehall movement and the production of Jamaican reggae music. Sleng Teng is among the most versioned (rerecorded) of Jamaican riddims, listing around 380 versions.
