The family of Trinidadian journalist, Mr. Afzal Khan who suddenly passed away in his hometown over the weekend, received condolences from the Commissioner of Tourism of the United States Virgin Islands Beverly Nicholson-Doty.
Expressing her deepest sympathies to his family, the commissioner remembered Mr. Khan “as a valued team member of the Tourism Development Company of Trinidad and Tobago,” serving recently as manager of corporate communications.
“We had productive interactions with Mr. Khan last month during the Caribbean Media Exchange (CMEx) on Sustainable Tourism so his sudden passing comes as a complete shock and saddens all of us who were fortunate enough to have spent time with him,” recalled Commissioner Nicholson-Doty.
“Afzal Khan was passionate about the Caribbean region, our people and our heritage – sentiments which were obvious during his stimulating and educational exchanges at CMEx. His passion and commitment to the Caribbean should inspire those wanting to contribute to the region’s development.”
Afzal Kahn was an award-winning journalist, lecturer and seasoned communications professional.
