Versatility Meets The Runway is a Fashion Show and Campaign with a difference! Raising funds for charity and more projects to support to help disadvantaged people and to promote different cultural styles, and abolishing/going against the constant discrimination in fashion via size, height and styles on the runway. VMTR is also raising awareness of too much discrimination on the runway and in all fashion not only with colour, but also with sizes, heights and styles mainly. Being a size 0 seems as the only way to success and beauty as well as being over 5ft8 in height, but yet I’ve seen shorter and thicker models stand out and do extremely well on the runway, but are prevented from opportunities because they don’t meet the ‘so called’ requirements. And as far as we are concerned, everybody is unique and beautiful in their own way regardless, and still have many talents within their self so why is there restrictions and discrimination, causing many men and women to go trying to look like someone that their not because the fashion world programs peoples minds to believe that you have to look a certain way to be considered as beautiful and good enough to be a model or to be involved in the fashion world in general. As a model myself, my experience in the fashion world, and experiences as a glamour model inspired my creation of VMTR to build an empire and reach out to others who agree with this campaign. Many young females turn anorexic, put themselves through unnecessary surgery that even causes them to go into debt, or suffer from being Balemic because of this discrimination and brainwash that most fashion designers and agencies are promoting. I’m a model (UK Size 12-14) which they also call ‘plus size modelling’ and I love my thickness and curves and wont lose that to look like someone else that i’m not. Also Many styles are prevented from the runway such as Gothic fashion, tattooed models etc due to discrimination and in my events and shows, I will be promoting that and giving both current and upcoming designers, models, MUA’s the opportunities to come out and promote their different unique styles of talent. I will also be promoting dancers and singers and other individuals in the entertainment industry. I personally Sing/Dance/Model as well as studying and my multi-talents and skills is the reason why I promote versatility so that others like myself can come out 🙂 VMTR is also a fashion directing and PR/Marketing brand mainly as we will be directing shows and opening opportunities for more models, designers, directors, MUA’s to have opportunities for exposure……
We are doing this campaign and shows for a great cause as we are also raising money for the ‘I have A Heart Charity Foundation’ based in Jamaica run by an amazing strong young woman named Abi Gaye Smith a young strong lady based in Jamaica, who’s suffering from a serious heart disease and survived two major heart surgeries and won, which resulted in her starting a charity named: ‘I Have A Heart Foundation’ to help others like herself that are also suffering from heart disease so we will be sponsoring her charity through any event we keep and through all our campaigns to keep everyone aware at all times. If you want to get involved with a wonderful cause and event then why not get in touch?? We are looking for Bloggers, Marketing and PR assistants, Scouts, Events Managers, Sponsors, Models, MUA’s, Fashion designers, photographers and anyone else within the entertainment industry such as dancers, singers, poets and rappers are definitely needed too. Versatility is the way forward, not backwards. Therefore these restrictions in fashion on the runways need to stop regardless of how long it may take, as we shall continue to persist with this campaign. We need a new transformation in the fashion world. Even though they have plus size modelling agencies, which has been a great improvement, however that is not 100% helping with the restrictions because they are still being segregated. It’s about that time a revolution began!!! That’s what we here for so lets do it 😀
